As President of Cedar Bear Naturales, I am excited about the proposition of adding a railway to the Uintah Basin. Each time talk about the railway surfaces there is also accompany talk about other companies that would follow its completion. If this does happen, it will only further diversify the local economies. Cedar Bear Naturales manufactures liquid dietary supplements and the addition of a local railway has to potential to decrease our shipping cost and timeframe to our clients who live throughout the United States. The railway also has the potential of allowing us to be better connected to our suppliers. As a business, we are excited about this prospect and look forward to the progress which will be made in the coming months and years.I do, however, have one question. The Current proposal ends the line at Leland Bench which is further away from the existing highway and other infrastructure. Would it not be more prudent to bring the rail line closer to Hwy 40 at the point of Halfway Hollow, the endpoint that was proposed in 2018? The advantage also is that it puts the end of the line closer to where future business could grow.
