It will reduce semi traffic on US 40 and Indian Canyon. There has been a lot of wrecks involving semi tankers on both highways. As a former fire chief for Helper Fire Dept., we responded to some tanker wrecks in Indian Canyon, some of them were fatalities involved. It will also create a lot of jobs in Carbon County that is hurting now for employment opportunities. Jobs will be created during construction and afterwards. The highways in both US 40 and Indian Canyon will also see less wear because of the reduced weight of tanker trucks. This a win, win opportunity.
