There is too much liability and risk. That paired with cost and length of time for this project outweighs any potential benefits. Derailments, spills, noise and air quality will all have negative environmental, recreational and subsequent economic impacts to our community citizens and wildlife. This is a matter of public safety, environmental preservation, and protecting our natural resources. The time and money would be much better spent making the rail line into a recreational path. More recreational opportunities will bring more tourism dollars to our communities.
